Pricing
Simple, fair pricing.
Two things are true today: our prices are a fraction of what a translation agency charges, and we haven't published the exact numbers yet. We're measuring our real costs on the first projects now. The moment the numbers are solid, they go here.
How our pricing works
Three simple rules
A fraction of agency cost
We're owned by a ministry, not investors, so we price close to what the work actually costs us. An organization that could once afford one book can afford a whole shelf — and in more than one language.
Same price for everyone
No quotes, no haggling, nothing hidden. The rates are published. The same book costs the same for everyone — you don't have to be good at negotiating.
Same quality at every price
A lower rate never buys a worse translation. Every order gets the same review and the same Assurance Report. The rate only changes who covers the cost.
The three rates
Three rates, one quality
Mission rate
For communities and small organizations that could never afford translation before. Priced close to our cost.
Standard rate
For funded organizations and publishers. A little above cost, which keeps the work going. This is the default rate.
Institutional rate
Pay it forward. Well-funded institutions choose to pay more, and the extra underwrites a mission-rate translation for someone who can't pay. Same book, same quality, same report — plus a second book translated in your name.
Same review, same report, same care. The rate only changes who covers the cost.
Which rate do you pay?
You choose, and the standard rate is the default.
Need the mission rate? Just tell us who you are and why the standard rate would stop the work. That's the whole application, and we take you at your word.
The institutional rate is pay-it-forward — a choice, never something we assign. It's for buyers who want their budget to translate someone else's book too.
Why no numbers yet?
Because we'd be guessing, and guessed prices get revised later — which isn't how we want to behave. Right now we're measuring the real cost to serve (expert hours, setup, computing) on our first projects. The price list goes up the moment it's built on real numbers. Talk to us and you'll see it first.
